Carers

Do you have, or are you, a Carer?

A Carer is someone who, without payment, or salary, regularly helps a disabled, ill or frail relative, friend or neighbour.

A Carer may look after someone with:

– a learning disability

– a physical disability

– a mental illness

– difficulty seeing or hearing

– drug related problems

– other special needs relating to children & older people

The York Medical Practice are committed to ensuring all Carers are offered the help and advice they need to support them in their caring role.

If you are a Carer, or think you may be a Carer, please contact our Care Co-ordinator, Amanda, here at the Practice.

Amanda works closely with our Social Prescribing Team who can also provide support that can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing.

There are a range of services aimed specifically at Carers in Richmond Borough and below are some links to organisations which you may find helpful.
