In my free time I love to travel both abroad and around the UK. I’d love to spend more time doing arts and crafts at home which I also enjoy.

Healthcare Assistants

Ms Lisa Steel (f)

I originally trained as a Nursery Nurse, taking a break to have my children. I came to York Medical Practice 5 years ago as a Medical Administrator and then qualified as a Health Care Assistant – a job I really enjoy. My specialist areas are Smoking Cessation and Phlebotomy. I enjoy reading, gardening and spending time with my 2 lovely daughters when not at work.

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
